Invisible City - Interactive Installation

Project Statement

Synopsis
Invisible City is an interactive device designed to control Processing sketches via Arduino.

Summary
Invisible City developed the relationship between human and society. It brings an industrial perception which provides an opportunity for people to use their hands to construct their own buildings. People need to use their hands to wave on top of box. LEDs will be put into the box. 5 Photocells will be put into the 5 cylinders. Participants’ moving hands on top of photocells will trigger the LEDs in buildings, indicating which building is being constructed. At the same time, visually designed buildings will appear on the processing screen. When people's hand becomes higher, the buildings on screen will be higher. When people's hand moves, there are also sound of constructing the buildings like "Bang Bang Bang". People will have a satisfaction when they play with it because they could use their hand to virtually control the construction of the buildings and the cities.
